absence makes the heart grow fonder (and sappier)

July 26, 2011

Oh for the love of all that is blogging…it’s been an eternity since I’ve posted. Or a week. But a week is an eternity in blog years, which are like dog years, only much, much longer.

People, I’ve missed this. I’ve missed YOU! I’ve missed the daily journaling of random events that has become so integral to my usual routine. I’ve missed emptying my brain of the nouns and verbs that take up so much real estate. I’ve missed it so much that I think about random things to post about 400 times a day. And until I edit a few hundred thousand wedding photos, posting will still be sparse, but it’s still good to check in even if it’s brief, and hopefully I’ll be doing a lot more less-brief checking in soon!

In the meantime, I did a couple of things over the past week. Namely, the following:

I bought this cookbook.

I made the Lemon Zested Bulgur (SO GOOD) and the Kale Salad (even BETTER!)

I read the raw foods article in this month’s Whole Living.

I made the Strawberry Date Bars (OH MY WORD…) and the Zucchini Pasta (haven’t tried it yet; it’s tomorrow’s dinner!)

I wanted to write 35 blog posts about all of the new meals I’ve made and packed for work.

I ordered 4 boxes of coffee. Which should last 3 months. Or 3 days.

I got a speeding ticket. We’ll talk about that another day.

I missed Google Reader. And Pinterest. Desperately.

I went to church! Another long lost but beloved usual routine!

I ate a lot of watermelon.

I remembered the amount of hatred I harbor towards fruit flies.

I nearly shed tears of joy when the lockout ended.

I finally (finally!) earned gold level membership at Starbucks! And just in time for treat receipts!

I saw friends! Twice!

I went running around my neighborhood and make mental notes of 8,000 houses to photograph and 80,000 restaurants to visit.

I realized that I now live 5 minutes away from the Pittsford Wegmans.

I realized that my life is now complete.

I saw the fulfillment of this dream and this dream, “Someone, anyone please hire me to take pictures in public places so i don’t get yelled at anymore” 19 Sep via Twitter for Android when I got to take a few quick pictures at Anthropologie as part of my job!

And I worked a whole bunch.

Some days I thrived. Some days I just survived! Most days I was somewhere in between, which is just fine by me for now.

Before we adjourn, I have a favor to ask of all of you people whom I love (and that’s all of you!): update me please. Post a comment or two or twenty. How are YOUR lives these days? Fill me in! I want to hear from you! I miss you!
