just peachy

May 18, 2011

I don’t know if it’s the anticipation of summer and stone fruit season or the desire to chase the gray skies away, but I’ve had peaches on the brain lately. Since there are none readily available for consumption, I turned to Pinterest, the source of all things delightful and inspiring/delightfully inspiring. As per always, I was not disappointed with what I found:

Doesn’t it make you want to sit in a rocking chair on a porch in shorts and a t-shirt with a big ole bowl of peach cobbler topped with peach ice cream? (And if we were living in a perfect world, drinking a Chick-fil-A peach milkshake as a chaser?)

And while we’re on the topic of everyone’s favorite fuzzy fruit, Peach and Pearl has quickly become one of my new favorite blogs. Though not technically related to the actual fruit, it is filled to the brim with pretty ideas and inspiring thoughts, and it’s published by one of the fantastic editors of Southern Weddings, so you know it’s going to be amazing. And it is!

And while we’re on the topic of everyone’s favorite wedding magazine, I think this cover shoot for Southern Weddings is the best of the bunch as far as peach inspiration goes:

This sweet and charming photo shoot was created by joey + jessica, and if you’d like your day made you can check out the rest of the shoot here.

I think it’s time to tear into the bag of frozen peaches I have stashed in the freezer and whip up a smoothie while I impatiently wait for the real deal to arrive. Come quickly, peach season!
